Regional Seeding To Be Determined This Weekend

As we enter our final weekend of the regular season, important regional seeds are up for grabs.

In Division I, Michigan State has already locked down the #1 seed.  Currently sitting undefeated in region league play at 17-0, the Spartans look for a strong finish to remain undefeated.  Grand Valley State and Miami (OH) will enter this weekend as the #2 and #3 seeds respectively.  Both teams are improving every weekend and would love to upset Michigan State’s undefeated season.  Five points behind Grand Valley, Miami faces a must win game at 8PM Saturday against Grand Valley if they want to take over 2nd place before regionals.  A 4-12 record has locked Eastern Michigan into the #4 seed.  Hunter Ledgerwood, last week’s MCRHL Player of the Week, currently leads the MCRHL in scoring and will need to continue his hot streak in order to hold onto the point scoring title.

In Division II, the Western Michigan Broncos have earned the #1 seed for regionals already.  While their seed might already be determined they play host to ECRHA's Cortland Dragons Saturday night in a great matchup between conferences.  The battle for seeds #2-4 is tight.  One point separates Akron, Ohio State and Michigan Tech.  With multiple head to head matchups against each other this weekend, there are several games with huge implications.  Highlighting a few, Ohio State and Michigan Tech play at noon on Saturday and Akron squares off against Ohio State at 6 PM.
