Lindenwood Repeats as MCRHL D1 Champions

The MCRHL DI Finals featured a Best of Three series against Lindenwood and Bethel. Ultimately, the Lindenwood Lions defended their conference title.

Game 1

First Period:
Lindenwood wasted no time in asserting their dominance as Landon Kooker opened the scoring just 3 minutes and 32 seconds into the game, assisted by Nathan Durrans. Jack Wedoski extended Lindenwood's lead at 5:37, with an assist from Jackson Wozniak. Ethan Chipping of Bethel managed to put one past the goaltender at 6:58, briefly narrowing the deficit. Nevertheless, Lindenwood showcased their resilience as Clayton Liefeld scored a short-handed goal at 10:13, assisted by Jackson Wozniak, ending the period with Lindenwood leading 3-1.

Second Period:
Bethel showed determination early in the second period as Ryan Ro found the net just 25 seconds into the period, unassisted. However, Lindenwood swiftly regained control with Clayton Liefeld scoring his second goal of the game at 3:48, assisted by Bryce Pierce. Jack Wedoski continued Lindenwood's offensive onslaught with his second goal at 8:13, assisted by Jackson Wozniak. Connor Bradley added to Bethel's woes with another goal at 9:20, followed by Bennett Blake extending Lindenwood's lead at 11:44. Lindenwood dominated the period, ending with a commanding 7-2 lead.

Third Period:
Lindenwood maintained their momentum in the final period as Jackson Wozniak netted a goal just 1 minute and 36 seconds into the period, assisted by Parker Winkelmann and Dylan Sullivan. Jack Wedoski secured his hat-trick with another goal at 9:50, assisted by Jackson Wozniak. Despite a late goal by Jason Santoriello of Bethel at 11:50, it was too little, too late for Bethel as Lindenwood sealed the game with a resounding 9-3 victory.

Lindenwood (D1): 9

Lindenwood's dominant performance showcased their offensive prowess and solid teamwork, securing them the well-deserved victory in the MCRHL DI and DIII Final.

 

Game 2

First Period:
Lindenwood set the tone early in the game, with Bryce Pierce finding the back of the net at 4:25, assisted by Bennett Blake. However, Bethel quickly responded with a power play goal by Andrew Ether, assisted by Ryan Ro, leveling the score. Despite some penalties, both teams showcased solid defensive efforts, keeping the score tied at 1-1.

Second Period:
Lindenwood gained momentum in the second period, with Parker Winkelmann scoring at 1:54, assisted by Bennett Blake, giving them a 2-1 lead. The power play worked in Lindenwood's favor again, as Connor Bradley extended their lead with another goal at 9:31, assisted by Jackson Wozniak.

Third Period:
Lindenwood continued their offensive onslaught in the final period. Clayton Liefeld netted a goal at 2:20, with an assist from Jack Wedoski, expanding their lead. Bryce Pierce scored his second goal of the game at 6:49, followed by Jack Wedoski finding the net at 9:12, both goals unassisted. Bethel's defense struggled to contain Lindenwood's relentless attacks, resulting in a final score of 6-1 in favor of Lindenwood.

Bethel (D1): 1

Lindenwood's dominant performance secured them the victory in the MCRHL DI and DIII Final, showcasing their strength and skill on the ice.
