Grand Canyon University, University of Arizona and UC Santa Barbara are all off to a great start, coming off of the WCRHL 2022-2023 Season Opener.
Grand Canyon (Division 1) sits at 4-0, defeating all 3 WCRHL Division 2 teams, as well as Division 1 rival Arizona State University. Grand Canyon outscored its opponents 22-10, with the closest margin the 3-2 win against Arizona State University. Grand Canyon is a first-year program, with their sights set all the way to April, gunning for a Division 1 National Championship.
University of Arizona (Division 2) went 3-1 on the weekend, with their only loss to Grand Canyon, by a score of 6-4. Arizona outscored opponents 38-12. Arizona was a Division 3 program last year, and just made the jump back up to Division 2, and are enjoying success. Their wins include Cal Poly, CSU Fullerton, and San Jose State (Division 3).
UC Santa Barbara (Division 3) went 4-0 on the weekend, with wins against Cal Poly Pomona, Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona AA and Arizona State AA. With one more win, UCSB will match their win total from last season. A great start by the Gauchos.
