Their 80 goals against in 8 games might be the statistic that jumps out at you, but what keeps this first year team going is not the number of goals either way or the number of wins and losses, it is the excitement of playing a collegiate club sport. The University of Nevada Wolfpack has several things going for them: a very organized team, a large number of players, a dedicated coach and team staff, and the university behind them. They are excited to get the 2nd semester underway in just under a week, on Jan. 11 in Corona, CA.

The Wolfpack currently sit in 6th place out of 7 WCRHL Division III teams. Their lone win was the final game in their first event in San Jose, CA against Cal Poly SLO Green (D4), a 10-5 win. Nevada’s Tyler Sullivan scored 5 goals in that game to lead the Wolfpack to victory. Also worth a mention is their first game out of the game in San Jose against University of Colorado. While a loss, the score was 9-6 in just their first intercollegiate game, not knowing what the competition was like, or exactly how to prepare. Sullivan netted a hat trick in this game as well.

In Corona this coming weekend, the Wolfpack take on UCSB, UCLA, Cal Poly Pomona (D4) and CSU Fullerton (D4). They have placed UCSB and UCLA before, both losses, but they’ll look to use those as a learning experience for this round. They will then finish off the season in Huntington Beach, CA on Feb. 15-16.
