University of Akron to join the MCRHL

The MCRHL is proud to announce the University of Akron will joining our region this year and will be playing in Division II.  The Zips are a great addition to the MCRHL as they add a much needed presence in Northeast Ohio to the league.  Here’s a statement from Joey Nahay, team president, on the newly founded club: “Our program started out by having a group of guys that wanted to continue playing the game we loved, while also representing our university. Our expectations as a first year program is to establish a name for ourselves in the roller hockey community while competing for our future goals of becoming a Division I program. We are extremely thankful for the opportunity to join the Midwest Collegiate Roller Hockey League and we look forward to representing the league with respect, integrity, and class.”
