WCRHL Annual Queen Creek, Arizona Event Schedule Posted
January 5th, 2022 at 11:00PM January 7th, 2022 3:34AMFlorida Gulf Coast University and Colorado State University are traveling out to participate in the WCRHL's annual event at the Barney Family Sports Complex in Queen Creek, AZ. This will be the first time FGCU has been out to AZ, although they did travel out to California in 2018. Colorado State traveled out to the AZ event in 2020, posting a 2-1 record against divisional opponents and a loss to D2 Northern Arizona. Florida Gulf Coast currently sits mid-pack in the SECRHL, with a 2-2-1 record at this point. By the time they arrive in Queen Creek, they will have another event under their belt, as the January 15-16 event in Tallahassee, FL is right around the corner. CSU and FGCU will face each other plus 3 WCRHL opponents from CA and AZ.
Arizona State (D1 & D4), University of Arizona (D3 & D4), CSU Fullerton (D1 & D4), Cal Poly (D4), Cal Poly Pomona (D3), Northern Arizona (D2) and UCLA (D3) will also be participating in the event. ASU comes in as the favorite in D1, NAU in D2, U of A in both D3 and D4. ASU and U of A D4 squads will face off Saturday January 22 at 4pm; these 2 squads sit just 1 game apart heading into the 2nd half of the season.
2 weeks after the Queen Creek event on February 5, a smaller set of teams will play at Nor-cal Inline in Oakland, CA, and then all WCRHL teams will play on February 19-20 in Corona, CA for the final regular season event, with the WCRHL Conference Championships just 2 weeks after that on March 5-6, 2022, also in Corona, CA.
