Division II Concludes Round Robin Play

Aswe move from morning to afternoon here at the Skatium, we have a better picture as to what the Division II playoff race will look like as Round Robin play has come to an end. Some teams have finished pool play with strong performances and showing they will be a force to be reckoned with. Northeastern, Kennesaw and Slippery Rock all went 3-0 in their pools and will be begin bracket play with momentum on their side.
Pool A is also an interesting scenario. Out of the six games played by the four teams, four games ended in ties. UNC Charlotte won the other two and earned the 1st seed in the pool. The 2nd seed went to Miami who is yet to win a game (also yet to lose a game, with three ties).
Four “play in” games will be played today before we have a full itinerary for the Sweet 16, which is scheduled to start tomorrow morning. The four “play in” games tonight are as follows:
- Virginia Tech vs Cincinnati (5:30 pm)
- Arizona vs Northern Illinois (5:30 pm)
- Illinois State vs UC Irvine (6:30 pm)
- Kansas State vs St. Louis (7:30 pm)
It should be an exciting finish as we move closer to crowning a Division II champion on Sunday afternoon.
