Bethel University moves from Southeast to Great Plains!
Bethel University will play regular season games in the GPCIHL for the 2014-2015 season

On Wednesday July 30, 2014, the Bethel University Inline Hockey Club announced via their Twitter page (@RollerBu) that they will be moving from the Southeast Collegiate Roller Hockey League to the Great Plains Collegiate Inline Hockey League for the 2014-2015 season. The GPCIHL season officially starts on October 17-19, 2014 at Midwest Sport Hockey in Ballwin, MO.
In correspondence with the NCRHA, Head Coach John Thompson stated that "I am very excited about moving to the GPCIHL...switching will cut down on our travel cost and travel time...we can see some good competition and hopefully we can be better prepared come the end of the season."
The DI teams in the SECRHL were primarily located in southern Florida, quite a stretch for Mckenzie, TN-based Bethel. Now the average commute to a collegiate roller hockey event will be a mere 4 hours, down from the 6-12 hours for a SECRHL weekend. This also places Bethel in an extremely competitive Division I regular season against Lindenwood University, as well as places Bethel closer to inter-regional events that will be held this year in Colorado Springs, CO, Palatine, IL and Mt. Pleasant, PA.
Note: Bethel has not confirmed attendance at these events at this time.
