ECRHA  October 23rd, 2013 at 4:00PM  October 23rd, 2013 9:47PM

Boston University returned to the playoffs last season after missing out on the final weekend two straight seasons. Junior goaltender Mark Flitsch wants to take Boston to the next level this season and his performance on the opening weekend showed that. Flitsch went 3-1-0 with a league leading 2.00 GAA & .906 save percentage.

Flitsch started the weekend off turning aside 17 of 20 shots against Vermont. Despite Vermont holding a 20-15 advantage in shots, Flitsch helped the terriers stay in front.

Against UMass. Flitsch was stellar, turning aside 21 of 24 shots and allowing only two even strength goals. However, the Boston offense couldn't find the back of the net, dropping the game 3-2.

The final two games of the weekend against Baruch and Buffalo saw Flitsch make 39 saves on 41 shots in a pair of 7-1 victories.

This is the second player of the week award for Flitsch who was previously honored on 12/4/12.
