ECRHA Season Rolls Into Warwick, RI

Rhode Island Plays Host To First Event

Warwick, RI - The Eastern Collegiate Roller Hockey Association is headed to Teamworks in Warwick, RI for the first ever ECRHA event to be held in the state of Rhode Island. The University of Rhode Island Rams, will be excited to host fellow Division I competition Northeastern, Stony Brook and Hofstra into town for what should be some exciting action.
 
Rhode Island starts the weekend against Division I rival Stony Brook at 3:00 pm. Last season the teams met a total of four times, with Stony Brook winning the series 2-1-1. All four contests were decided by less than 2 goals.
 
Up next for Rhode Island is Hofstra University at 7:00 PM. Hofstra has dominated Rhode Island, winning 10 straight game dating back to a 5-4 victory for Rhode Island at the 2010 Regional Championships. Hofstra took last weekends meeting between the two teams, using two third period goals by Jefferey Stern (3g, 2a) to earn a 7-3 victory.
 
Rhode Island will close out the home portion of their schedule on Sunday morning against Division I newcomer Northeastern. The two teams haven't met since 2/17/07, a 12-2 victory for Rhode Island, who has won the last 7 meetings between the two schools.
 
In addition to the Division I teams, seven Division II teams will be in town, including Buffalo, UMass, Farmingdale, Baruch, Binghamton Boston and Vermont. In the B Division, three teams will take to the floor, Northeastern, Hofstra and Stony Brook.
