Tigers Open Season With 2-1 Record

ECRHA  October 18th, 2011 at 12:34AM
B Team captain #12 Andrew Feimster (senior) played his first career D1 game this weekend.

Towson, MD - Saturday afternoon the Towson D1 team opened up their 2011-2012 campaign with a game against Temple.  Last year the Tigers played two tight games against Temple, one ending in a 3-3 tie, and the other a 5-4 loss.  Towson looked to start off the season on a good note to try and forget their disappointing season last year.
The Tigers started the game fast, scoring the first three goals.  After a penalty-filled 2nd period, the Tigers were able hold off Temple's offense with strong goaltending by newcomer Kyle Fensterer.  The Tigers were able to close out the game, getting their first win of the season 5-1.

The next game for the Tigers would be an ECRHA featured game against Penn State.  After a good first game, Towson came into this game confident; Maybe a little too confident.  Penn State seemed too much for the Tiger all game, with a high pressuring man to man defense, and relentless attack on offense.  Towson just couldn't get anything going and ended up losing their second game of the season 5-3.

Towson's final game of the weekend was a much anticipated matchup against Army.  The Tigers have always struggled against the always highly athletic Army team.  While the Tigers were anxious to make up for their first loss of the season, things weren't looking good early as Army scored on their first shot of the game, followed up by their second goal shortly after.

Despite going down early,  The Tigers kept to their game plan and scored five unanswered goals from their.  After that their was no looking back as Towson continued to capitalize on their power play chances.  Towson came out of their final game in Harrisburg with a 7-3 win.
