Glastonbury, CT - Cody Gabor scored 3 goals for Connecticut, but Temple fought back from two goals down twice to tie the game this morning and settled for a 4-4 tie.

It didn't take long for the scoring to start, just 2:13 into the first period, Cody Gabor took a James Baker feed and flew down the left wing. Gabor's quick wrist shot beat the Temple goalie just under the blocker and inside the post for a 1-0 lead.

It was Gabor again who gave Connecticut the 2-0 lead. Cutting across the slot, Gabor fired the puck back across the seam, beating the goalie low glove side for his second of the game.

With Connecticut on the power play, Temple avoided going down by three early when Nick Gampa converted his second breakaway attempt of the penalty kill, using a forehand-backhand deke to outmaneuver the goalie for the tally.

It was special teams once again that allowed Temple to tie the game. Enjoying a 4-on-2 advantage, Scott Kalbfleisch converted on an odd man rush for the game tying goal.

Shortly after a man advantage expired, Connecticut found the back of the net to regain the lead. Nick Tomczyk made a pretty backdoor feed to a wide open    Tyler DaSilva who slammed home the goal. Connecticut extended the lead when _ and _ took advantage of an ill timed pinch by the Temple defense to convert on a 2-on-1.

Temple once again fought back. Capitalizing on a Connecticut turnover at the blue line, Scott Kalbfleisch and Trevor Davis teamed up for the tally to cut the lead in half. Just 1:17 later, a Chris Lucas one-timer found the back of the net and tied things at 4-4.

Despite a late power play, Connecticut couldn't get the winner. The tie improves Temple's chance at qualifying for the regional playoffs. Temple has two games remaining and must close a two point gap on Brockport. If Temple splits the remaining games, an crazy scenario could ensue in which penalty minutes could be the determining factor on who gets the final seed. Currently Temple leads the 4th tiebreaker (GA) by 13 goals, but trails in the 5th tiebreaker (GF) by 10 goals.

 Three Stars:
1- Cody Gabor - 3 goals
