Harrisburg, Pa - Dustin Roux scored 3 goals and Mitchell Reinhold made 19 saves as Penn State skated past Brockport 4-1 on Saturday night.
Greg Cohen got things started for the Nittany Lions, taking a Evan Godfrey feed and firing a wrist shot past Patrick Keyes to give Penn State a 1-0 lead late in the first stanza. Just 15 seconds later, Nicholas Sirera fed Dustin Roux for his first goal of the evening and a two goal lead.
After playing to a scoreless draw in the second period, Brockport would use the man advantage to cut the Penn State lead in half. Brockport's power play goal came off of a Joesph Chappius wrist shot after placing himself in good position to take a Jason Sitter feed and deposit the put in the back of the net.
Penn State used a Brockport timeout to their advantage late in the third period as Sierra once again skated the puck into the offensive zone and passed it off to Dustin Roux for his second tally of the night.
With Brockport down a man, Penn State found the final insurance goal they would need when Roux one-timed a John Scavelli pass to finish off the hat-trick and the game.
