New Blood

This year, the Magic were lucky enough to bring plenty of new blood into the system. A Freshman class 5 skaters and 1 goalie deep along with one transfer student will ensure that the STLCC program remains strong for at least the next few years.

Brett Adame – F
Brett Adame is one of the top additions this season and should see regular playing time this season. Possessing a great shot and good size, Brett should have an immediate impact on the team’s offensive output.

During his last season playing for Hazelwood West, Adame was 7th in the league in scoring with 33 points and 6th in the league with 23 goals in 12 games. Brett also led his team in points and goals. 

Josh Bryson – F

Keith Joachimstaler – D
Another product of the Parkway South squad that has kept STLCC’s roster ripe with talent (fellow Magic Eric Dauernheim, Bryan Lowe, and Sean Linhares are all P-South Alums), Joachimstaler should fit in seamlessly with the Magic this year.

Brian Leslie – F
The player who was the biggest surprise of tryouts is none other than Brian Leslie )and what a pleasant surprise he was). A Lindbergh grad, Brian was 3rd on the Flyers in points his senior year.  His points total, while impressive, takes a backseat to other aspects of his game which were on full display at tryouts. 

Brian has already set himself apart from the pack defensively. He is second to none on the squad in forechecking and backchecking ability.  Brian’s legs never stop moving and the effort he shows on both ends of the floor is truly something to be commended.  Brian will certainly be a player to watch when the puck drops later this month.

Sean Linhares – F
Sean completes the Parkway South foursome that makes up 25% of the skaters on the Magic this year.  Linhares shows good finishing ability and has a knack for being in the right spot on an odd-man rush to make the last pass or put the puck in the back of the net.  Sean has gobs of upside and could be a force to be reckoned with down the road if he stays as focused as he has been thus far during his short time on the Magic.

Ryan Vick – D
Ryan Vick is the top Freshman on the Magic squad this year.  A big body with good reach coupled with a natural calmness and sound puck handling skills makes Vick a big addition at D.  At Lafayette, Vick was a 4-year varsity player, leading the Lancers in goals and points for the past three seasons. Vick has quietly worked himself into a spot on the top defensive pairing with Captain Jared Miklasz and should be the cornerstone of the defensive corps during his NCRHA career.
