The Division 1 Sun Devils finished the 2010 regular season off with 3 games in Las Vegas, NV this past weekend. They opened up against out of region opponent Colorado State. After losing to Colorado State last year, ASU turned it around and beat CSU 7-2.

In their next game, ASU faced the hometown UNLV Rebels. The game would prove to be the toughest win of the season as UNLV took a 6-5 lead in the 3rd period. ASU would tie it up 33 seconds later, the only time the Devils have trailed in the 3rd period all year since losing the 1st game of the season. ASU would end up winning 8-6.

To finish off the weekend and the regular season, the Devils beat an improved Citrus College team 9-2. This ran ASU’s record to 19-1-0 on the season, the best record in WCRHL history. The Devils also set regular season records for the longest winning streak (19 games) and least goals allowed (49) in WCRHL history.

Goaltenders Clay Taylor and Stephen Back finished a combined 17-0-0 on the season while setting WCRHL records for save percentage and goals against average.

Senior defenseman Brian Ganz ended up with 39 assists on the season, a new WCRHL record while sophomore forward Tyler Koressel led the WCRHL in goals with 37. Ganz and Koressel finished 1st and 2nd in league scoring and also tied for the league lead with 6 game winning goals each.
