The ASU Division 1 team continued its tear through the WCRHL this season, going 5-0 in Santa Barbara. The Sun Devils started the tournament with 11-1 wins over West Valley JC and CSU Northridge. Will Heinze put up 4 goals and 6 assists for ASU in the 2 games.

Next up, the Devils demolished Cal Poly SLO 9-3 led by 5 goals from Tyler Koressel. This win allowed ASU to clinch the best regular season record in the WCRHL, with 5 games still to play in the season. Best record means the Devils will get the 1st WCRHL bid to nationals.

To end the night, 5 Sun Devils (Brian Ganz, Tyler Koressel, Alex Dodt, Derek Bolls, and Will Heinze) participated in the all-star game for Team White. ASU goaltender Clay Taylor was also named to the all-star team but wasn't at the tournament. The Sun Devils led Team White to victory in a shootout. Bolls scored the shootout winner while Koressel and Dodt missed on their ridiculous trick shot attempts.

To finish the weekend, ASU faced its 2 toughest opponents in UNLV and UC Santa Barbara. UNLV was the first challenge for ASU's goaltender Stephen Back, filling in for missing starter Clay Taylor. Back played stellar against UNLV, turning away 35 of 37 shots for a 6-2 victory.

Finally, the Sun Devils faced off against the home team UC Santa Barbara Gauchos. After taking a 4-0 lead early in the 2nd period, ASU faltered, allowing UCSB back into the game with 3 goals in 6 minutes. The Devils would control the play the rest of the game though to pick up the win, their 16th straight W.

ASU finishes off the regular season February 13 in Las Vegas, NV.
