Hello Hofstra Roller Hockey fans! As many of you know, the past two years have been a little rough on the standings, so for next year, we're looking to totally change our image. We are creating a contest, open to anyone- students, faculty, staff, people off the street- to design our uniforms for next season. Here's how it works:

2. Design away. You can use Photoshop, Paint, crayons, magic markers, tattoo ink- whatever you have laying around that will best get your idea across
 -Current Hofstra logos can be found at http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?id=698
 -While we can't give out the Hofstra font (which you can see on uniforms here  and here), just put something close, and we'll adjust it
 -Please make sure to stay in the color spectrum- royal blue, athletic gold, and white. Our gloves and helmets are black, so it can be in there as well, if you want.
-These uniforms will be sublimated, so there's no restrictions whatsoever on design. Unlike cut-and-sew designs, sublimation is printed directly on the fabric, like a giant sheet of paper, allowing for limitless creativity with the design.
3. Save the file as a BMP or GIF
4. E-mail it as an attachment to [email protected]. Make sure to include your name and contact information

That's it!

The prizes:
The winner of each the home and away jersey design will receive a customized jersey of their design. If you are a current player, that saves you some cash when we buy them next year. If you're just a fan, you get yourself a pretty valuable collectable for getting to play around with some hockey jersey designs.

Basic rules:
-ALL entries must be received by 5:00 PM EST on Sunday, April 5, 2009
-We are looking for a home AND an away jersey. You don't have to design both, but you're more than welcome to
-Home jerseys must be light in color- white/off white, yellow, gray, etc.
-Away jerseys must be dark in color- yellow, blue, black
-You can send in as many submissions as you'd like, but please don't flood our inbox
-We reserve the right to alter any designs as we see fit, but we promise to still give credit where credit is due. We won't tweak it a tiny bit and claim it's different to scam anyone
-Prizes may not be substituted for anything else. And there's no royalties or anything involved. Once you submit the concept, it's either you win and you get your jersey, or thanks, but maybe next time
-Decisions made by the team are final. I'm sure everyone thinks that they have the best design out there, but we can only pick one.

UPDATE:

The four finalists for each the home and away sections of the home and away brackets of the contest are in. The options in the away bracket are entries five, fourteen, fifteen, and sixteen.
The options in the home bracket are entries four, eighteen, twenty, and twenty-one.

Voting for the finalists will conclude this week, and the winners will be announced and presented at the 2009 Hofstra Roller Hockey Banquet, re-scheduled for Saturday, May 9th at 7:30 PM, in the Greenhouse of the Mack Student Center on the North Campus of Hofstra University. Tickets are still available, and may be purchased by e-mailing [email protected]. Contest winners will be contacted directly for jersey customization options.
