Towson Holds Off Stony Brook 8-7

Shippensburg Skates Past Rowan 7-2

Feasterville, Pa – Dane Houser lead the way for Towson, scoring a pair of goals and registering two assists in a 8-7 victory. Tom Cartwright’s four goal night wasn’t enough to overcome the potent Towson (7-4-1) offense.

Trevor Nau (5-3-0) made 27 saves in net to earn the victory in net. Nick Gullo and Eric Topalian split time in net for Stony Brook (5-4-1). Gullo made 7 saves on 13 shots before being pulled in favor of Topalian. Topalian made 12 saves and allowed two goals in relief.

Mike Inge (2g), Ryan Cowdell (1g,1a) and Cory Twibell (1g,1a) all registered multi-point nights for the Tigers. Paul Valvo (4a) and Tom D'Ancona (1g,1a) both had multi-point nights in the losing decision.

Both teams are back in action tomorrow with both teams taking on Suffolk CC (6-3-1). Stony Brook will take to the rink at 12:30pm and Towson at 7:30pm.

In Division II action, Tom Cavanaugh scored a hat trick to lead the Shippensburg Raiders to a 7-2 upset of Central Conference leading Rowan Profs. Tyler Anderson made 22 saves in the victorious effort for Shippensburg (8-2-1).

Matt Sheridan returned for his first game of the season and registered 3 assists. Brian Schnepp (1g,1a) and Sean Sheridan (1g,1a) also registered multi-point games for the Raiders.

Phillip DaSilva made 18 saves in a losing effort for the Profs (9-2-2) and Sonny Ciocco (1g,1a) registered a multi point game.

Rowan returns to the rink tomorrow morning against intrastate opponent Ramapo College (0-10-2) at 9:30am. Shippensburg will take to the rink against first place West Chester (10-1-1).
