Redhawks ready to kick off 2008-09 season

The Southeast Missouri Redhawks are ready to open their season November 1st against Kansas State and erase the memories of a painful 4-15 record last season. Problems were abound with the team last year and the teams new leadership seems poised to make sure the 2008-09 season is the best Redhawk season yet.
Captain Nick Hertel returns, as well as JJ Baker, Jacob King and Jim Lohse. Goaltender Luke Phillips will also return to anchor the teams defense efforts. Matt Harris joins the team after attending SCCC for the past 2 years. There are also plenty of new faces on the team. Freshman make up a large portion of the roster as Josh Brennan, Ryan Stupka, and Josh Wesselman are attending SEMO for the first time. Upperclassman Chris Marks, Josh Richardson and John Edmund have also joined the team.
The Redhawks are a team to look out for. Eager to remove the underachiever moniker, they play with nothing to lose.
