ECRHA  September 10th, 2008 at 7:23PM  September 11th, 2008 9:15PM
Another Season of UB Roller Hockey is approaching and we are looking for enthusiastic members to help us build our club and our teams for national competition. We will begin play in the third weekend of September, so all students who are interested in playing must bring their equipment to campus when they arrive in August. UB Roller Hockey is comprised of three teams: - The A team - Who competes in Division I-A of the ECRHA (Eastern Collegiate Roller Hockey Association) and the NCRHA (National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association). The team is comprised of 8-10 traveling members and will compete in all Pre-Season and Regular Season tournaments, as well as regionals and nationals. - The B Team - Who competes in Division I-B of the ECRHA and the NCRHA. The team is comprised of 8-12 traveling members and will compete in all Pre-Season and Regular Season tournaments, as well as regionals and nationals. - The C Team - Who will compete in a maximum of 2 regular season tournaments as well as participating in local hockey leagues. The team will also have regular practices in the Clark Hall gym. The "A" and "B" teams will practice separately for a minimum of 1.5 hours per week under the order of the team captain or appointed head coach. Practice will take place on a regulation sport court rink using an official league puck, which is a Rocket Puck. Practices will start on time and those not attending practice will not play in games. Last season, both "A" and "B" teams won the ECRHA division and qualified for and traveled to NCRHA Nationals in Colorado Springs, Co. We would expect no less of our teams this year and anticipate much success in the upcoming season. Tryouts for both teams are scheduled for Saturday, September 20th and Sunday, September 21th. The times are from 4PM to 6PM on Saturday and from 12PM to 2PM on Sunday. After Saturday"s tryout, we will make a first cut, all those cut will still be part of the "C" team. There will be a cost of $20 to tryout, this money will be used to cover rink time at whichever facility we hold the event. If you want to tryout for the team, enter your information below, do not sign up unless you are going to tryout, we will use this list to form teams and drills for the two day tryout.
