Taking the rink for
the first time since Holiday leave, the Army Black Knights look to start the
second half of the season better than they opened it. For the first time in
team history the Black Knights will travel outside the ECRHA to take on some
national competition. Teams from outside the region will have the opportunity
to compete opposite Army for the first time ever this weekend. Army is
currently in third place in the northern conference standings with 4 points.
Armyâ??s success starts
with its freshman forward Nick Stortini (Dearborn, MI). Stortini stepped into
the lineup for the Black Knights and has produced greatly for the team. The
freshman ranks 20th in the league with 17 points in just 6 games, 33rd in goals
with 7 and 9th in assists with 10.
Fellow teammates
Patrick Toffler (West Point, NY) and Kyle Snook (Concord, MA) have paced the
offensive attack for the Knights. Both are currently 2nd and 3rd
on the team in points with 12 and 11 respectively. Toffler has registered seven
goals and five assists, while Snook has lit the lamp on ten occasions and
picked up an assist.
Sophomore Sean Meberg
(Park River, ND) and freshman Adam Angerami (Waterford, NY) have split time in
goal this season. Meberg is 1-3-0 with a 9.67 goals against average and a .741
save percentage. Angerami is 2-2-0 with 5.67 goals against average and a .827
save percentage.
Army should face some
stiff competition over the weekend in Key West. Itâ??s been almost two months
since Army last played a competitive game, but they will not have any time to
adjust and must come out of the gates hot. Once Army returns from Key West,
their next action will be January 27th-28th in
Glastonbury, CT.
