February 01, 2005
Today, the ECRHA released their 2004-2005 All Star rosters. We are
proud to announce that 5 members of the Rutgers Roller Hockey team will
be participating in the All Star Event this weekend in Feasterville,
PA. In the Division 1 game, James Novak and Rob Fulton were announced
as forwards for the black squad.
Known for his blazing speed, Novak is the only Rutgers 2-time all
star, and is second in the nation with three shorthanded goals this
season. Freshman sensation Rob Fulton has definitely turned heads this
season, as he is among the top 10 league leaders in scoring. As one of
the league leaders in wins (8), junior Matt Pokoj was announced as a
goaltender for the black team. Pokoj has certainly been recognized for
his strong focus and great technical goaltending, as he continues to
give Rutgers a chance to win every game.
In the B All Star game, sophmore Mark Makar was named to the black
team, as he has consistently filled the scoresheet with his brilliant
playmaking abilities this season. He will be joined by head B team
coach Ryan Trembley, who was named head coach of the B Division black
team. Trembley is the first Rutgers coach to be named to coach an ECRHA
all star team.
The Scarlet Knights all stars will surely make make an impact in
the all star festivites this weekend. James Novak is a favorite for the
speed skating contest, while Matt Pokoj is a definite contender for the
goaltending contest. The festivities take place this Saturday, February
5th at the Sportsplex in Feasterville, PA.
Congratulations to our 5 All Star selections. You have all done a great job this season.
