Lions Show Well Against Tough Competition

GPCIHL  December 3rd, 2004 at 1:52AM

Lindenwood's B team has had the tough task of playing a schedule that includes the top DI team in the country and two of the top 5 DIII teams in the country.  But the team feels the tough regular season schedule will be beneficial during the playoff run.

So far this season, the Lions are 4-0 in the B division outscoring their opponents by the score of 42-6.  They have beaten a solid DI team in Missouri-Rolla, #6 ranked DII team in St. Louis University,  and #5 ranked Meramec C.C., the team that just recently snapped the LU DI team's 64 game unbeaten streak.  They narrowly lost to Mizzou by a goal.  The only two significant losses were to the varsity squad and to St. Charles C.C.

The Lions have seven players who have reached double figures in scoring.  Leading the pack is freshman Jake Shepard who has 10 goals and 8 assists.  Robby Carroll leads the team with 13 goals and Mike Mizuraca leads the team with 9 assists.

The Lions have leaned on goaltenders Dustin Brown and Adam Traw who have kept the team in all of the games this year.
