Lancers win one in Raleigh
ACRHA November 16th, 2004 at 5:12PMThe Longwood Lancers picked up their first victory of the year against UNC-Charlotte's B team, 5-4, despite missing two top players for the weekend. The team also was tied with Western Carolina 1-1 after two periods, and down only two goals to Clemson with 10 minutes to go in the game; huge testaments to the improvement taking place. 'Peda' Phil Klineburger had a huge offensive weekend, notching 6 goals. Defensively, Danny Ferk fought through illness and racked up 10 more penalty minutes, plus a goal. Goaltender Doug Horchler picked up his first win and held the team in some games.
The team will certainly continue to progress and should look to rack up a few more victories next semester, provided key players don't skip out to watch the Redskins or UVa lose another football game.
