Rookie Mistakes
How things kinda go for us
ACRHA October 27th, 2004 at 4:54PM October 27th, 2004 6:41PMOnce there was a rookie named Chris. His teammates needed a bookbag from a van in the hotel parking lot. So they sent this strapping, able-bodied rook down to the 1986 Chrysler minivan with direct instructions to enter said teammates van and fetch needed bag. Simple, yes?
Shortly after rookie left to complete his Herculean task, owner of van remarks (paraphrased): "I bet that fool will come back here in 5 minutes and break the key off in the door." His remark would become way too prophetic.
Ten minutes later the rookie reported back to the hotel room. He did not have the bookbag in his posession. In fact, he shamefully admitted that he tried to jiggle the key in the door real hard, but it didn't want to open. Rookie Chris then hung his head, apologized and admitted to breaking the key off in the door.
Instead off flipping out and making the poor rookie wish he was born a woman, the van's owner and a teammate went to investigate. The others kept close eye on the rookie, fearing his escape. It took a few minutes but the van's owner returned to the hotel room with good news. The rookie hadn't broken the key off in his door afterall!
He broke it in a totally different automobile.
